"Iohahi:io" in Mohawk translates to "The good road" in English.

Through Iohahi:io, the Ahkwesáhsne Mohawk Board of Education is honored to offer high-quality continuing education opportunities that foster meaningful personal development through providing educational and training opportunities that are aimed to further improve skills, learn new competencies, and further improve chances of obtaining gainful employment for Akwesásro:non and the community at large. 

Iohahi:io is deeply rooted in Haudenosaunee values, traditions and culture. These elements are thoughtfully woven into the development and implementation of program curricula and student support services. 

Iohahi:io is a proud member of the Indigenous Institutes Consortium of Ontario (IIC), and is provincially recognized by the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security, as an Indigenous Institute, equal to colleges and universities. Iohahi:io partners with St. Lawrence and Algonquin College to offer their programs, as well as Queens University and SUNY Potsdam. Iohahi:io is also in partnership with Employment Ontario, Akwesasne Career & Employment Support Services (ACESS), Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) to offer the T.R. Leger School of Adult, Alternative & Continuing Education.

The Pathways Department continues to provide non-accredited employment and job readiness training that evolves with community needs.

Programs such as Pathways to Trades, Pre-Employment (PADDLE) and American, and Canadian Welding, and Mohawk Language Courses, combine hands-on experience with essential soft skills to prepare individuals for the workforce.

Program Participation PADDLE - 5 weeks, 9 participants.

Pathways to Trades - 10 weeks, 10 participants.

Welding - 10 Weeks, 10 participants.

The Akwesásne FabLab builds and showcases innovation and technical skills in 3D printing, coding, and digital design.

Program is 24-weeks long, comprised of 15 weeks of instruction and 9 weeks of hands-on placement.
