Located in the district of Kaná:takon, Quebec.
Kaná:takon is a Mohawk Immersion School that is proud to serve students and their families from Head Start to Grade 5. Students and families from all three districts of Akwesásne, as well the Southern New York State portion are welcome to attend. Kaná:takon School is deeply committed to language revitalization and cultural learning. Students and Staff alike embrace every opportunity to immerse themselves in Kanien'keha language and Haudenosaunee traditions.

- Classrooms integrate Neuro-Linguistic Approach, allowing students to develop conversational Kanien'keha skills through core subjects such as: Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies.
With the support of our families and the community at large, Kaná:takon is able to offer meaningful activities that range from cultural teachings, hands-on crafts, community ceremonies and seasonal celebrations. Our learners also had the chance to explore beyond the classroom with various exciting field trips throughout the school year.
AMBE and Kaná:takon School are grateful for the valuable partnerships formed with local organizations such as the Akwesásne Mohawk Ambulance, Hogansburg Akwesásne Volunteer Fire Department, Akwesásne Child & Family Services, Akwesásne Mohawk Police, Indigadancer, SRMT Farms and MCA Community Health. Their visits and presentations helped enrich our students' learning experience and strengthened community connections.
