Tracie Cook - Grades 6 - 8

Their main responsibilities include:

  • Social-Emotional Support: Providing short-term individual or small-group counseling to help students navigate peer pressure, anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and family changes.
  • Academic Skill Building: Teaching time management, study habits, and organization, while helping students set academic goals and stay on track.
  • School Transitions: Guiding incoming students through the adjustment to middle school and helping 8th graders prepare for the academic and social expectations of high school.
  • Conflict Resolution & Crisis Intervention: Mediating peer disputes, addressing bullying, and offering immediate support for urgent mental health or safety concerns.
  • Career Exploration: Introducing basic career pathing, personal interest assessments, and helping students link their current learning to future options.
  • Family & Community Collaboration: Partnering with parents, teachers, administrators, and outside mental health or community agencies to ensure each student receives comprehensive support.
